Kuala Lumpur Health & wellness apps

Retention review

WK 02

Most wellness apps lose the room after the second week.

System Canvaspoint sits with the first month of a meditation, sleep, movement, or nutrition app and writes a retention review: where people stop returning, which screens they finish, and which reminders they ignore.

Who this is for

Product and clinical teams who already shipped a health app

If your app asks someone to breathe, sleep, lift, or log a meal, the interesting question is not how many accounts you opened. It is whether those people came back on Thursday.

We work with teams in Malaysia and the region who run meditation memberships, home workout libraries, sleep diaries, and food logs. You bring exports, screen recordings, and a person who can explain why a permission prompt exists. We bring a written reading of the first month, not a slide about growth.

A review is useful when:

  • the seven-day streak looks healthy on a chart and empty in interviews
  • new installs die on the motion or notification permission
  • the free trial of a meditation membership ends and almost nobody stays
  • Ramadan, shift work, or KL heat makes your “daily” habit look punitive

If you need a piece of software built, we are the wrong studio. If you need someone to read the counts you already have, and to sit through the first-run as a new user would, that is the work.

From the notes

A sleep diary that asked for too much on night one

A Kuala Lumpur sleep app asked new people for Bluetooth, notifications, and a full week of bedtime history before it would show the first diary card. Return on night two sat under a fifth of installs. The review cut the first-run to a single evening and moved the rest behind a completed night.

The team kept their clinical questions. They stopped asking them in the doorway.

App categories

Meditation, movement, sleep, nutrition

Each category has its own unfinished sessions and its own false comforts. A skipped sun salutation is not the same as an untouched sleep diary. We keep those distinctions in the review.
